Why don't we just eat barnacles?
Turns our with all the toxic coatings on boats, the barnacles themselves become toxic. Besides, it looks like you have to harvest a lot of barnacles to make barnacle fettuccini. The Striped Burrfish and Sheepshead eat barnacles. I hope they aren't toxic! Turns out, military ships use the most toxic coatings. Is it time for us to make Barnacle-Shield for boats and ships?

what do barnacle larvae look like?
They look like little fleas and have sticky legs so they can attach to docks, boats and even whales and turtles. Barnacles do serve an important function in that they eat dead organic matter and detritus but they primarily eat plankton, phytoplankton and zooplankton.

Barnacle-Shield Over wrap
Some of our customers want to know, if they have already wrapped their pilings with "black wrap", can they install Barnacle-Shield over that? Yes, and it looks great. Here is Russ from Gulf and Bay Marine, one of our great wrappers, installing Barnacle-Shield over black wrapped pilings.
barnacles are remorseless killing machines
Barnacles "reproductive parts" are 8 time the size of their bodies and they kill lobsters?! You have to be kidding me!
Can we wrap lobsters with Barnacle-Shield? Should we wrap lobsters with Barnacle-Shield?

Mr. Coconut
barnacles grow on anything, Even sunglasses
-Mr. Coconut-
While out exploring on the water on April 20, we came across a spot called Mangrove Shell Tree on Clearwater Beach, where we found this impromptu sculpture by Mell. Mr. Coconut, as we called him, is protecting his eyes with barnacle covered sunglasses. That can't be very effective! If only Mr. Coconut knew he could have covered his sunglasses with Barnacle-Shield.
Here's a short video of Mangrove Shell Tree
